Our journey started in 2025 with the launch of out Super Mini NAS. The storage device consist of multiple components, such as the main board, where the central processing and networking components lie.

While some of the most vital components are located on the main board, many vital components take place on other boards too. One of the most important components is the 16 GB eMMC storage, mounted on the main board. The Linux-based operating system resides on the blazing-fast eMMC chip. A SATA controller board, on the other hand, is used to connect the main board to the hard disk drives. It connects to the main board using the M.2 PCIe connector, providing room for six HDD and SSD drives. Obviously, all of this requires electrical power to function, which is provided by the 120-watt internal AC power supply unit. The ample wattage of the power supply ensures the NAS can accommodate six of even the older, power-hungrier drives.

All of that is then wired together and fitted to a tailor-made case specifically for that configuration
Nectec Super Mini NAS
The compact Nectec Super Mini NAS is a performant network storage device with six SATA slot and a built-in streamlined Linux OS.
Recently, a new Lite version of the mini NAS was added to our range, too. It comes with couple differences compared to the Super version, such as smaller size and fewer slots for disk drives. It also uses different technology for OS storage and a smaller SATA controller.
